Meet Crystal Balazs: Training Coordinator
How long have you been working at MPA?
I started working at Master Plumbers Association back in 2003, so this is my 14th year working at MPA. I began at MPA as an Administration Trainee straight from high school, and have worked in several different areas and roles of the association since.
What does your role involve?
My role involves primarily coordinating training courses, including our VET in Schools programs. I am also involved in compliance support for our RTO (Registered Training Organisation), as well as administration and member services. My role also includes some design and marketing work, including distributing member update emails and maintaining the MPA website.
What do you enjoy about working at MPA?
I enjoy the variety of opportunities and tasks involved with my role at MPA, which allow me to continue learning. In particular I enjoy working with and providing support to our members and students. It is also great to be involved with a not for profit organisation and an association which supports the industry.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, visiting local markets and spending time at the Adelaide Zoo
and Botanic Gardens. I also enjoy painting and am hoping to use my artwork to raise money for animal conservation.
What is your dream holiday?
I have been lucky enough to visit the USA twice, and I would definitely love to go back again one day. I would also love to holiday anywhere with beautiful scenery such as New Zealand or Canada.
Tell us an interesting fact about you?
I have a love for astronomy and I spend a lot of time looking up at the night sky through my telescope. I also enjoy the challenge of photographing the moon and planets, in particular Jupiter and Saturn. I hope that through sharing these images, I can remind others to look up every once in awhile!
